Woman accused of killing wife claims it was ‘mistake’ while they were wrestling each other

A woman accused of killing her wife told police it was a “mistake” that happened while the pair were wrestling each other.

The body of Tiffany Scotland, 26, was found on a rubbish bag beneath a rolled-up carpet by her landlord last week.

He had become concerned after not hearing from Tiffany or wife Aterraka Scotland, 27, for several days.

Tiffany’s body was found in the bedroom the couple shared with several knife wounds.

The man called police and while detectives were interviewing him, Aterraka texted to say she wanted to meet him and pay the rent, CBS reports.

Police went to the arranged spot and arrested Aterraka who initially claimed to have no idea her wife was dead.

The scene of the grisly killing in Redmond, Washington

During questioning by cops in Redmond, Washington, she later admitted to knowing Tiffany had died but said it was a “mistake” that happened while the pair were wrestling each other.

Tiffany had confessed to cheating and she hit her head as the confrontation became physical and they grappled, she claimed.

Aterraka later went on to tell police she had panicked and asked friends to help who stabbed the body to make it look like a robbery gone wrong.

A post-mortem exam will determine a cause of death but police said the body had been in the room for some time.

Aterraka has been charged with murder.
