Wirral is to get its first open air, drive-in cinema screening cult and classic films.

Organisers are promising an authentic American drive-in movie experience, with roller skating waitresses, Kiss Cam, cash prize bingo, American themed food and drink, and mouth watering desserts provided by Mr Tee.

The drive-in will be presenting some of the best cult and classic movies from the past 30 years, projected onto a massive 13 meter screen.

The grand opening will take place on Friday, June 1, with a Grease night.

As well as speakers around the site, the movie soundtrack will be sent out through the airwaves, so customers can tune in their car sound systems for an immersive movie experience.

Even those without a car need not miss out – for those arriving on foot, a comfy lounger will be provided so they can watch the film from the lawn at the front of the site.

The drive-in is located opposite Woodside ferry terminal in Birkenhead and has its own high-walled enclosure.
