Two women who pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a 69-year-old Detroit auto parts manager have been sentenced to decades behind bars.

A judge on Friday sentenced 23-year-old Shawnta Anderson to 30-60 years in prison and 28-year-old Eboni McEwen-Ross to 21-50 years.

They pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder and armed robbery charges were dropped.

Sixty-nine-year-old James Haller was fatally shot Nov. 1, 2017, while working at an O’Reilly Auto Parts store. Surveillance video showed two women running from the store after Haller was shot in the head.

Haller’s widow, Patricia Haller, said she “would like to get ahold of” Anderson before her sentencing. Haller approached Anderson but was restrained by deputies.

Anderson said “people make mistakes.” McEwen-Ross apologized to the family while acknowledging “it doesn’t mean much.”
