This week’s best gaming deals: Wolfenstein 2, NES Classic Mini, Persona 5, and more


Time for our weekly roundup of this week’s best gaming deals! This time, everything from Wolfenstein 2 to Persona 5 and 4K TVs, all feature.

As usual, we’ve got deals that’ll work in the UK, deals that’ll work in the US and some deals that will work in both the UK and US, as well as presumably many other places. Let’s get started.

UK & US Deals

Like it or not, Sonic is one of gaming’s most tenacious characters. The little blue guy is still alive and kicking despite many missteps along his 27-year career and Humble is celebrating the entire franchise will a sale range, offering up to 75% off.

Shenmue I and II got itself a release date of August 21st earlier this week and with it, several digital retailers are able to start taking pre-purchases. Currently, heading to Voidu and using the code SCHOOLSOUT will get you a PC copy of the game cheapest, where it’ll discount it to £15.35 / $19.43.

Almost ten years after its initial release, Red Faction Guerrilla has gotten its own remastered version and arguably, it’s the worst named remaster ever. The ReMarsTered edition of the game can be yours for half price in its launch week over at GOG, where it’ll cost you £7.49 / $9.99.

Last year’s Wolverine send-off movie, Logan, is currently on offer as a digital purchase at Amazon. You can get an HD copy of the film to keep for only £2.99 / $7.99 at the moment. If you’ve ever wanted to see Patrick Stewart swearing like a sailor, you’re going to want to do that.

Not only is Yakuza 6 one of the most ambitious and one of the absolute weirdest games to grace the PS4 since launch, but its launch edition is currently discounted in both the UK and US. You can grab the Essence of Art Edition for £28.49 / $39.53 currently, while the extra special Premium Edition is down to $74.45 in the US.

UK Deals

If you wanted to upgrade your setup and jump on board of the 4K train, you can pick up a PS4 Pro console along with digital copies of SingStar and Hidden Agenda, all for £319.85 for a limited time.

Cult classic and super stylish JRPG, Persona 5, is up for grabs on PS4 right now for £23.99, one of the lowest prices it’s ever been available for, over at Argos.

DC brawl ‘em up Injustice 2 is discounted right now at Amazon, where you can grab a PS4 copy of the game for £12.99 at the moment. Perfect if you wanted to play through a DC-themed story that manages to be vastly superior to the movie series while making it look easy.

Remember these things? The Nintendo Classic Mini is back in stock now and Base is offering it up for a little less than the rest of the pack. You can snap one up for £48.85 while they’re around.

The Pixel 2 seems to have been fairly well received by the internet at large and if your taste in phones lies further into the ‘Android’ field than anything else, you can grab one of these things for £499, about £130 less than its regular cost.

This is like the third time that the Blade Runner 2049 blu-ray has made it into one of these deals roundup posts. This thing keeps getting cheaper for some reason, as it’s down to £6.95 at the time of writing.

US Deals

Wolfenstein 2 is enjoying a bit of a resurgence currently, thanks to its recent Nintendo Switch launch. However, if you’re a PS4 or Xbox One owner and you’d like to see what all the fuss is about, you can grab a copy for only $20 right now at Amazon.

Dropmix – Harmonix’s board game / rhythm game hybrid – continues its downward pricing trend this week, as Best Buy is offering the game for its lowest ever price of $29.99 as part of a clearance sale.

You can save some money on one of the best JRPGs that has graced the Nintendo Switch console so far – Fire Emblem Warriors – by heading to Best Buy right now. The standard edition will cost you $44.99 while the fancier Special Edition is down to $59.99.

Darkest Dungeon is a wonderful gothic fantasy RPG roguelike thing with a gorgeous art style that more people should play. Luckily enough, it’s currently discounted to $14.11 on PS4 right now, so you should probably check that out if you haven’t already.

GameStop’s having itself a bit of a sale on digital Xbox One games at the moment, featuring Red Dead Redemption for $9.90, GTA 5 for $19.79, NBA 2K18 for $19.79, The Sims 4 for $24.99 and a whole bunch more.

Somehow, almost a year after its launch, Amazon still seems to have stock of the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition. The fanciest version of Bungie’s sci-fi sequel is down to $64 while stock lasts and comes with a fancy bag, among other trinkets and digital goodies.
