THE world’s first cinema car has been revealed, and Brits will be the first to test it out for free.
The rear seats of the special motor have been designed to mimic a real cinema, complete with red velvet seats and a 42-inch screen.
Converted from a large family car, the vehicle is part of a promotion for rental company Hertz, for their “Go Anywhere” unlimited in-car wifi service.
The motor uses the wifi system to stream feature-length movies for the two lucky passengers in the back.
Along with the giant screen, the car is also fitted with LED lights, cinema curtains, surround-sound and total blackout windows.
Hertz is currently offering a few lucky Brits the chance to rent the car out for a weekend, completely free of charge.
Film fans can win a weekend with the car by sharing what their favourite film is on Facebook or Twitter using #HertzCinemaCar.
But the prize draw is only open until June 11, so keen motorists don’t have much time to enter.
The cinema on wheels will also tour Hertz UK branches including London Heathrow, London Marble Arch and Edinburgh Airport to give customers the chance to get in and experience it for themselves.
Brits will be able to”trial hire” the car from one of the branches to take it on a quick test drive and try out its unique features.
The rental company will also launch cinema cars in selected European countries.
A statement from Hertz said: “The car celebrates the launch of the ‘Go Anywhere’ Connect Device which gives Hertz customers unlimited in-car Wi-Fi, allowing for the steaming of even feature-length films.
“So for a limited time only, customers across Europe can now trial hire the limited edition car free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis.”
