The Greatest Showman and 14 other outdoor cinema screenings in Cornwall


Fancy watching Baywatch on a beach? The stunning Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri or The Greatest Showman next to a castle? Or Zootropolis and Jumanji at an animal theme park?

You’re in luck as the Cornish Cinema Club – Skylight Cinema’s outdoor cinema screenings in the county – has just announced its programme and, as the adage goes, there’s something for everyone.

So if you like it adult and Tarantino or child-friendly and Paddington 2 there is a film for you at the three different venues hosting films from July 25 to September 19.

Here’s the list…

Caerhays Castle and Estate, near Mevagissey

July 26 – Reservoir Dogs

Quentin Tarantino’s dark yet humorous breakthrough sensation.



Watch a film in the idyllic surrounds of Caerhays

August 2 – Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri

Last year’s incredible Oscar winner is as black as it gets. As bleakly funny as it is moving.

August 9 – Logan

The tenth instalment of the X-Men film series, starring Hugh Jackman, has been dubbed one of the greatest superhero films of all time.

August 16 – Black Panther

The 18th Marvel film is the highest grossing film in the United States ever. T’Challa is crowned king of Wakanda following his father’s death, but his sovereignty is soon challenged by a new adversary who plans to abandon the country’s isolationist policies and begin a global revolution.



August 23 – The Greatest Showman

What’s left to say about the cinema sensation of the past year? Reviled by most critics, but what do they know? The people love its mix of song and spectactle.

August 30 – Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle

August 21 – Peter Rabbit

The James Corden-voiced bunny will be having fun at Dairyland.

August 28 – Coco

The farming theme park becomes the Land of the Dead for a night as the popular animated fantasy film gets a screening.

Porthmeor Beach, St Ives

August 8 – Paddington 2

Another screening for everyone’s favourite visitor from Peru, this time on a beach.

August 22 – Beauty and the Beast

The live action version of the Disney favourite, starring Emma Watson.



September 19 – Baywatch

It’s the perfect location. Among the beach-ready bodies of Porthmeor you can watch the remake of the Hasselhoff series starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

The screenings at Caerhays and Dairyland are drive-in screening which you can watch from your car using your radio for the sound while Porthmeor movies are on the beach itself as a sit down.
