Middle and high school students are welcome to join a group forming local teams to compete in the Oregon Game Project Challenge, a video-game design contest. An informational meeting and “game-storming” is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in Room 209, Towler Hall, Clatsop Community College, 1651 Lexington Ave.
The contest offers students a chance to get creative while learning computer code, game design, art, marketing, and more. Students will break into teams and spend the coming months designing, building, testing and redesigning their own video games. Teams will travel to Western Oregon University on May 11 to compete in the main event.
No prior experience is necessary. The deadline for joining local teams is Dec. 12. For information about the statewide program, go to ogpc.info. For local information, email firstname.lastname@example.org“>email@example.com or follow at fb.me/clatsopogpc
