Russell Crowe Is Roger Ailes In The Loudest Voice Trailer – Empire

To call former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes divisive would be a little akin to saying the surface of the sun is quite hot. A movie is already in the works about him, and US cable channel Showtime has its own project, miniseries The Loudest Voice, which sees Russell Crowe slathering on the latex to play the man. Check out the first trailer…

Based on writer Gabriel Sherman’s book The Loudest Voice In The Room, the series charts the revelations about Ailes – hired to run the conservative cable news outlet by Rupert Murdoch back in 1996 – who resigned in 2016 after various allegations about sexual misconduct emerged, some of them in Sherman’s tome. After leaving Fox, Ailes returned to his political consulting career, providing assistance to the Trump campaign. Ailes died in 2017 at the age of 77.

The show certainly scooped up some solid names for its cast, with Naomi Watts, Sienna Miller, Annabelle Wallis and Seth MacFarlane playing Fox employees, friends and family members. Simon McBurney takes on the role of Murdoch.

The Loudest Voice will kick off in the US on 23 June and will likely make its way over here not long after that.
