Police: Man arrested after brandishing handgun, carjacking nun’s vehicle in D.C. (MGN Online)

A 20-year-old man is behind bars after police say he carjacked a nun’s vehicle Monday evening in Northeast Washington.

According to DC Police, Brandon Brown approached a woman, who is a nun, in the 1300 block of Quincy Street, NE, at around 6:49 p.m. There, he brandished a handgun and demanded that the nun hand over the key’s to her car.

The nun gave Brown her keys and he fled the scene in her vehicle, police say.

Police observed the woman’s car near the intersection of 26th Street and Benning Road, NE. That’s when they say Brown got out of the car and fled the scene on foot.

After a brief foot chase, police say Brown was apprehended. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Brown was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
