New Line Cinema’s ‘The Children’ Gets New Title: ‘The Curse of La Llorona’ #SDCC

It was revealed ahead of the San Diego Comi-Con that New Line Cinema and Atomic Monsters’ The Children has officially been retitled to The Curse of La Llorona. It will be previewed next week as part of New Line’s second annual ScareDiego.

Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen is the lead in the horror film directed by Michael Chaves, which was revealed to be released in theaters on April 19, 2019.

Youngster Roman Christou was also cast in the film follows a social worker investigating the disappearance of two children and soon learns her own family may too be in danger.

Raymond Cruz of “Breaking Bad” fame will play Catholic priest turned shaman alongside a cast that also includes Linda Cardellini, Sean Patrick Thomas and Patricia Velasquez.

James Wan, Emile Gladstone and Gary Dauberman produced The Children, with Michael Clear executive producing. The film was written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis.
