NASA’s robotic lander coming to Space Center Houston

HOUSTON – Pretty soon you’ll be able to take an up-close look at the next generation of Mars landers.

The Morpheus robotic lander is a new prototype coming soon to Space Center Houston. The lander is being added to the nonprofit’s future-looking Mission Mars exhibit.

Crews at Johnson Space Center designed the Morpheus lander to be able take off and land vertically; the hope is to use it in future missions to Mars.

A full size lander will go on display at the Space Center in Clear Lake on Wednesday, June 20.
