KUCHING: Four children who went missing from Kampung Telagus, Simunjan, on Saturday have been located safe and well at an oil palm mill this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) state assistant operations director Tiong Ling Hii confirmed that all four victims are safe and unharmed.
Alerstine Juleinus Sugi Chung, 14; Muhammad Irfandy, 13; Nurul Jazlieanna, 12; Carolyn Cindy, 11, are believed to have fled into the forest on Saturday after they were scolded by their family for playing in the river.
According to him, the victims were found by a villager at his working place (oil palm mill) during the search and rescue (SAR) operation. The villager then contacted one of the victims’ parent.
All four victims have been handed over to their respective family members.
The SAR operation which was activated this morning was later called off at 12.30pm.
