It’s Men’s Health Week and in honor of the seven day period, Phoebe is hosting a free Men’s Health Fair this weekend.
On Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., men can come out to Albany State to receive free health screenings and enjoy some healthy, local food options.
According to Phoebe Community Benefits Coordinator Darrell Sabbs, men will be able to receive free screenings for diabetes, cholesterol, prostate cancer and get their height and weight checked.
Doctors will also be present to discuss the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Sabbs adds, this weekend is all about making sure the men in your life live a long, healthy lifespan.
“We want to save our men. Our men add to the productivity of their families, the productivity of their communities, they play such a valuable role. This is an opportunity to let men know that they’re important, they’re valuable, that we need them here in our lives,” said Sabbs.
Fifteen different restaurants will be present with samples of healthy menu items.
Lunch will also be provided along with free shirts and other merchandise.
