Local cinema screening ‘Captain Marvel’ for deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons – KEPR 19

A locally owned theater is hosting a special screening of Captain Marvel for deaf and hard-of-hearing movie-goers Thursday night.

Fairchild Cinemas in Richland told Action News the movie will feature open-captions.

Lead manager Verna Slaugh says multiple customers requested inclusive events just like this, and they’re glad to do it.

“We want to appeal to our customers and we want to know what their needs and wants are and we’re happy to accommodate when we can. This is something that we could continue to do for our customers if they show enough interest, so they can go to our Facebook page and email their requests.”

It’s happening Thursday night at the theater behind Gold’s Gym in Richland.

Slaugh says tickets just went on sale, you can buy them online at Fairchild Cinemas: Tickets & Showtimes.
