OLIVET — Effective immediately, Hutchinson County has banned non-essential travel on roads affected by flooding and other factors
Emergency Manager Dave Hoffman said the action was taken for the safety of drivers and because of the damaged, weakened county infrastructure.
In addition, county officials have encountered problems with drivers going around barricades, Hoffman said.
In related action, Hutchinson County has enacted an immediate burn ban, Hoffman said. The ban was taken as emergency personnel may be unable to reach a fire because of limited access created by flooding and damaged roads.
