Election body also withholds Pervez Khattak’s Nowshera NA-25 victory notification

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday withheld the victory notification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from two constituencies, while conditionally notifying his electoral win on three seats.
He emerged victorious across all five seats he contested from: Bannu NA-35, Islamabad NA-53 , Mianwali NA-95, Lahore NA-131 and Karachi NA-243. The ECP, however, has withheld notification of this electoral victories.

A similar fate befell former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chief minister Pervez Khattak. The PTI heavyweight had secured Nowshera NA-25 in the recently-concluded general elections.
The ECP also withheld victory notifications for Faisalabad NA-108 where Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali secured a plurality of votes. The Lahore High Court (LHC) also stayed victory notifications of former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq from Faisalabad NA-103.
PTI leads with 115 seats in NA: ECP
On July 29, the ECP announced unofficial results of all 841 national and provincial assembly seats up for grabs in the 2018 general elections. A total of 270 National Assembly (NA) and 571 Provincial Assembly seats together comprise the aforementioned number.
Sharing preliminary party tallies, an ECP official said the PTI was leading across 115 NA seats. The count for the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stood at 64 and 43 seats respectively.
