A 19-year-old girl from Litchfield, Minn., spent 45 minutes with her head wedged inside of a tailpipe on Friday then became a viral video star.
After enjoying a few drinks at the Winstock Country Music Festival in Winsted, Kaitlyn Strom decided to see if she could squeeze her head in the exhaust pipe of a strangers truck.
“We were all having fun and I saw this big exhaust pipe, and I was like, Hey, my head could probably fit in that, ” Strom told the Hutchinson Leader. “So I tried it. It did fit, but it didnt want to come back out.”
After she was freed, Strom was cited for underage drinking and escorted from the festival, according to the McLeod County Sheriffs Office. When she finally arrived home at 3 a.m. Saturday, a surprise was waiting for her somebody had uploaded a video of her that had already accumulated thousands of views.
The five-second recording of a firefighter using a power saw to free Strom has been viewed more than 2.7 million times on Facebook.
The trucks owner, Tom Wold, has already fixed the exhaust pipe. He told Strom she didnt have to pay for it.
“I remember getting my head unstuck, and I just looked at him and apologized, and he said, No, Im just glad youre OK. Dont worry about it, ” Strom said.
