Canada Posted Record Jobs-Market Gain in April – The Wall Street Journal

OTTAWA—Canada posted a record jobs gain in April and wages advanced at a faster pace as the country’s labor market continues to perform well despite an otherwise sluggish economy.

The Canadian economy added a net 106,500 jobs in April on a seasonally adjusted basis, Statistics Canada said Friday. Market expectations were for an increase in employment of 15,000, according to economists at CIBC World Markets.
