A Lotto player has won $1 million after buying their ticket in the Auckland suburb of Takanini (FILE PHOTO).

An Auckland Lotto player has won $1 million in Wednesday night’s draw.

The winner, who bought their ticket at Countdown Takanini in south Auckland, scooped up the Lotto First Division.

However, Powerball was not struck on Wednesday evening and has rolled over to Saturday, where the jackpot will be $8m.

Strike Four also rolled over and will be $400,000 on Saturday.

A Lotto spokeswoman said anyone who bought their ticket from Countdown Takanini should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at a Lotto outlet, online or on its app.
